Staff at Golden Charter celebrated the company’s 25th Anniversary this November with a special conference and gala dinner, where they also took the opportunity to raise funds for charity. This resulted in an amazing £3,311.40 being donated to Children In Need, which helps disadvantaged children throughout the UK.
On Friday 13 November, almost 400 staff members from across the country joined together at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow for an evening of networking and entertainment. Guests were treated to a three course meal, a stand-up show from comedian Des McLean and music from a traditional Scottish ceilidh band and 90s-themed disco.
Throughout the evening, generous staff made donations totalling £1,598, with Golden Charter pledging to match fund the amount raised, taking the total of the night to £3,196.
To further boost the donation, surplus snacks from the company’s staff conference, which was held at the IMAX Cinema at Glasgow Science Centre, were sold at Golden Charter’s head office in Bearsden, raising more cash to add to the overall donations total.
Ronnie Wayte, chief executive of Golden Charter, said; “This event represented the opportunity to say thank you to our staff who have worked so hard over the years to secure our place as the market leading funeral plan provider.
“As a company, we want our staff to be able to reach their full potential. We decided to match fund the amount raised at our celebration to give disadvantaged children in the UK a better chance of achieving their dreams and being the best they can be.”
Golden Charter’s significant growth has received national recognition in recent months, with the company appearing in the prestigious Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 League Table which ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest growing sales over the last three years.
